ARC Review: Still by Kennedy Ryan

**STILL is the conclusion of Grip & Bristol’s emotional journey. You must read FLOW, the prequel, and GRIP, book 1 before beginning STILL**

I’ll be there.
Through thick and thin.
Ride or die.
You can count on me.

The promises people make.
The vows we take.
Assumptions of the heart.
Emotion tells us how we feel, but life…life has a way of plunging us in boiling water, burning away our illusions, testing our faith, trying our convictions.
Love floating is a butterfly, but love tested is an anchor.

For Grip and Bristol,
Love started at the top of world
On a Ferris wheel under the stars
But when that love is tested, will they fly or fall?

WOW!!!! This. Book. Was Amazing! We’ve met Kennedy Ryan more than once. She knows who we are and we have long conversations with her. We love her, she’s a sweetheart, approachable, and humble. But after reading Still, I’ve realized something else about Kennedy Ryan… She is fire with the pen. We’ve read Flow and Grip and we loved them tons. But, this. book. Kennedy wrote an epic love story. With every glance, touch, and conversation between Grip and Bristol, Kennedy allowed readers to experience an intimacy and love so profound, I felt it down to my soul. This. Book. If you don’t know, this is the conclusion of Bristol and Grip’s story, so we see them address old issues plus face some new  heartbreaking ones.  But the one thing that was constant, was their bond. Grip gave Bristol a safe place to love. No walls, no reservations, no wavering. Bristol KNOWS without a doubt that its okay to love Grip as hard as she was meant to love.  GAH!!!! I was swooning all over the place. I cried multiple times while reading this… happy tears, sad tears, and my heart so freaking full tears. Not only did Kennedy Ryan write a story that ignited swooning and crying, she wrote a story that was thought provoking and relevant. Still taught lessons, spoke truths, negated ignorance, and allowed readers to experience life from both sides of the fence. This was a story that needed to be told, and Kennedy Ryan had the courage to tell it. I just became an official Kennedy Ryan stan!!!!

Natasha is right. We have met Kennedy a few times. She is sweet and so friendly. She gives amazing hugs. She’s just an overall amazing person. It’s kind of unbelievable to know these words came from her. After reading this book, she has cemented her place in my personal writer hall of fame. We read the 1st two stories of this series and LOVED them. It was so refreshing to have a book boy that looked like me, that experienced issues like me, who’s mom taught him life lessons that I will teach my children. This story takes that man who was so familiar and raises the stakes. Grip is everything you want in a traditional alpha. He’s fiercely protective of his woman, he’s sexy as hell, he’s quick to apologize, he has a good relationship with his mom, he has money. He’s a poet and he unapologetically loves his woman. Oh to be loved by Grip. He’s the total package, but this book idolisizes him. He was always so much more than an entertainer, more than a rapper. This story sees him take his opportunity and pour his time, effort and resources back into his passions and his people. Grip represents the man we love as well as the man we want our sons to be. Bristol is his perfect match despite the naysayers and the doubters. She knows without a doubt how to love Grip. They have differences of opinions and very different backgrounds but their bond never waivers. Their connection that was immediate only grows stronger. Even when they experience heartache that could easily break anyone, they continue to love and fight for one another. Like Natasha said, this is an epic love story.  What sets it apart, is that it is an epic love story that is set in today, in the real world. They are a couple who lives a fantasy even with real life problems. They are a couple with money and influence,  but there are some things that money can’t buy and some issues you can’t pay your way to resolve. Kennedy Ryan somehow managed to write a love story that not only impacted my heart and soul, but that challenged my thoughts and beliefs as well. This is a must read series.
