Review: Vanquish by Pam Godwin

Her life is like a prison cell.
A self-made, to-hell-with-the-free-world existence that locks from the inside.
Stop judging. Her agoraphobia doesn’t define her. It simply keeps her safe.

He belongs in a prison cell.
The 6×8, make-me-your-bitch variety that locks from the outside.
But he’s free. To hunt. To take. To break.
And he just found a sexy new toy.

Capturing her is the easy part. Her fucked-up mind, however, makes him question everything he does next.
But he’s a determined bastard. If all goes his way, this will hurt like hell.

WTH was I thinking waiting to read this?! Absolutely loved Van is this book. Omg! Those sweet moments when he cared for Amber were heart warming. He was so out of his element, but for her he was willing to be exactly what she needed and craved.  This is the stuff that make anti heroes lovable, that moment they change for the right woman… GAH!!!! The best part for me. Witnessing Van’s redemption was a hell of an experience! I got ALL of my questions answered about Van. The sex was hot, their history was heartbreaking, and their present was stressful. Amber, Amber, Amber was an absolute wreck but such a lovable character. I love characters with emotional baggage, and Amber had a ton. While Van would do anything for her, she would do anything for him. Even if it meant facing her worse fears. They were so adorbs. They both deserve unconditional love. Yes!!! Van deserves to be loved. Can you believe it?  I loved this book! I love Van and Amber! I love Pam Godwin!

Talk about a total mindfuck. I mean, after the first book, I HATED Van!! I wanted him to die a painful and fiery death. He was insane and super creepy. He really had no redeeming qualites. By the end of this story, I knew Van, understood him and even loved him. In Amber, he found his perfect match. A woman who accepted his flaws and who needed him to be exactly who he was. Amber was troubled, to say the least. She found her perfect match in Van. She needed his brutal love to push her beyond her limits. In the end, they were each willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the other. Van was totally redeemed and I was even rooting for him at the end. I loved this book. Another great read from Pam Godwin!
