A little birdie gifted us with an ARC…
When I first heard about this softer side of Aleatha, I was skeptical. I mean, could we really trust her not to Aleatha us? So I took a chance, let my guard down and fell in love with this story. This was lighthearted for Aleatha, but the characters still gave me that edge I need with my books. Kimbra initially seemed timid, but that was sooooo not the case. She was a vixen, whose favorite word was “FUCK”. I mean how cool is that? Duncan was the ultimate alpha male. He knew exactly what he wanted and seized any opportunity to get it. Again, this story was tame for Aleatha, but her personality shined through. These characters were freaking hilarious. OMG!!!!!!!!! Helen. Electric toothbrushes have been ruined for me. I absolutely loved it. At the end of the book Aleatha says “I hope you’re smiling”. YES, I was smiling. I had the biggest, cheesiest smile on my face known to man.

Natasha, I was super nervous about light hearted Leatha, but our girl did not let us down. I have to admit that I was waiting throughout the entire book to get Aleatha’d (excuse my trust issues). This book was the opposite of what we’ve come to expect from Aleatha, but one thing is consistent… Her true alpha males and her strong heroines. Kimbra was so dynamic. She did initially seem soft, but as we got to know her, we saw that she was so much more. And Duncan? He was strong and sexy. He seized his opportunity and closed the deal. He was all alpha, but appreciated Kimbra’s confidence and strength. The supporting characters were hilarious. Grandma Helen was a mess, but so funny! I would have loved to been a guest sitting at their table at the wedding. I kinda like Leatha, but I do feel like it’s the perfect setup for us to have our guard down for the next Aleatha story… I’m sorry. I told you I have trust issues…
