The Fall Up by Aly Martinez

I give this book 3 stars. It was very hard for me to get into at first. It didn’t really grab me right away. I kept putting it down. I finally got into it about 5/6 chapters in. It was pretty good once I got into it. The middle was good, but toward the end it slowed down again. It took me about an hr to finish the last 10 minutes.

Sam is a level 1 book boy. He was so sweet, which is… you know, ok… I just need my book boys to have a little more edge.

Overall, it wasn’t a terrible read.

I know I’ll be on my island for one with this review. I just wasn’t that impressed. It was an okay read, but if the blurb tells me we’re dealing with a mega superstar, I expect that to play a huge part in the story. In my opinion, it really didn’t. I kind of hated Levee, she was irritating as hell, immature, and I just couldn’t connect with her.

I liked Sam, he was sweet enough. But he didn’t make my book boys list. And Henry was just obnoxious, who does that? He was really over the top. All of these characters has great potential, but I barely tolerated them. I don’t know why I didn’t connect with them. This was just the wrong book at the wrong time. Most of my friends on GR loved it, so I’m sure I’ll be the odd man out on this one.
