Review: The Fae Chronicles Unraveling Destiny by Amelia Hutchins

Unraveling Destiny (The Fae Chronicles, #5)

I knew Destiny wasn’t done with me. I knew that she was just getting warmed up, but I had no clue just how hard my world was going to come crashing down on me.
I had thought that I was going to get my fairytale wedding and marry the man of my dreams.
I was wrong.
Now, faced with having my world torn asunder and Faery exposed, I have to make choices I never thought I’d have to make.
I’m divided between two worlds, and I have to decide just how far I will go to get back what was stolen from me.
Old enemies are closing in, new enemies are being revealed, and surprising allies are entering the playing field.
War is on the horizon, and it’s coming right for us.

I’ll be honest I will NEVER EVER EVER  get enough of Ryder. He is one of my most beloved book boys eva. Maybe I’m crazy, but I feel like Ryder wasn’t around all that much in this installment. I’m kind of heartbroken by this. I didn’t get my fix. I need more. I always need more. Don’t get me wrong I loved this book, but I’m selfish and greedy when it comes to Ryder. Synthia didn’t disappoint, and my girl crush remains intact. Synthia was as bad ass as ever. This book was action packed and the world building was amazing as usual. This book was needed to bring all the other books together. I enjoyed it, but where was my alpha?!

Review: Corrupt by Penelope Douglas

Corrupt (Devil's Night, #1)

Erika
I was told that dreams were our heart’s desires. My nightmares, however, became my obsession.
His name is Michael Crist.
My boyfriend’s older brother is like that scary movie that you peek through your hand to watch. He is handsome, strong, and completely terrifying. The star of his college’s basketball team and now gone pro, he’s more concerned with the dirt on his shoe than me.
But I noticed him.
I saw him. I heard him. The things that he did, and the deeds that he hid…For years, I bit my nails, unable to look away.
Now, I’ve graduated high school and moved on to college, but I haven’t stopped watching Michael. He’s bad, and the dirt I’ve seen isn’t content to stay in my head anymore.
Because he’s finally noticed me.

Michael
Her name is Erika Fane, but everyone calls her Rika.
My brother’s girlfriend grew up hanging around my house and is always at our dinner table. She looks down when I enter a room and stills when I am close. I can always feel the fear rolling off of her, and while I haven’t had her body, I know that I have her mind. That’s all I really want anyway.
Until my brother leaves for the military, and I find Rika alone at college.
In my city.
Unprotected.
The opportunity is too good to be true as well as the timing. Because you see, three years ago she put a few of my high school friends in prison, and now they’re out.
We’ve waited. We’ve been patient. And now every last one of her nightmares will come true.

I am having so much fun tackling this list for LoveNVegas!!!!!! I wanted to revisit this author’s work before we meet her. This book  was crazy as hell. I didn’t know who to trust or what was going on. I didn’t know if I liked the characters. But I knew I had to finish this story. I was dying to know what happen. Rika and Michael were a pain in the ass, but they were so meant for each other. I loved being in their world. This book was full of suspense, hawt sex, fun, and friendship. Loved it!!!!!!!  I really want to read Kai’s story next, but I have to get through a few more authors. I will be purchasing them to be signed. Read this book!!!!!!

ARC Review Mr. North by Callie Hart

Mr. NorthLaw student Beth Dreymon is out of money and struggling hard. If she wants to finish her degree, she’s going to have to earn some money and fast. When she learns of an exciting opportunity—playing chess with New York’s most elusive billionaire—the offer sounds too good to be true. Reassured the offer is legit, Beth gets her game face on and prepares to geek out…

Only, when she steps foot into Raphael North’s luxurious penthouse, the rulebook goes flying out of the floor-to-ceiling windows. North is beautiful and damaged—a terrible temptation—and he has his sights set on winning Beth over. He’s just a job, though. A job Beth needs in order to make ends meet. If she plans on making her life in New York work, she needs to keep her eye on the prize. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, however, and it isn’t long before Beth finds herself entangled in Raphael’s world of dark desire.
Captor.
Curator.
Lover.
Enigma.
Beth should run from the devastatingly attractive blue-eyed devil, but Mr North has other ideas…and he’s about to make his next move.

We love Callie Hart, and was so excited to receive our first ARC from her. This was a crazy ride. I loved Raph, he was an endearing *hole. This story started with a bang. I was extremely intrigued. I love me an emotional damaged male in books (lol). I loved Beth and her feisty ways. They were adorbs together. But the book wasn’t perfect. I wanted more sex, more answers, and more of a connection between the MCs. Even though I didn’t get everything I wanted, it was worth the read and I really enjoyed it. I could have finished this in one sitting, but life… Read it and let us know what you thought!

Review: Sick Fux by Tillie Cole

When Ellis Earnshaw and Heathan James met as children, they couldn’t have been more different. Ellis was loud and beautiful – all blond hair, bright laughs and smiles. Heathan was dark and brooding, and obsessed with watching things die.
The pair forged an unlikely friendship, unique and strange. Until they were ripped apart by the sick cruelty of others, separated for years, both locked in a perpetual hell.
Eleven years later, Heathan is back for his girl. Back from a place from which he thought there was no return. Back to seek revenge on those who wronged them.
Time has made Heathan’s soul darker, polluted with hatred and the thirst for blood.
Time has made Ellis a shell of her former self, a little girl lost in the vastness of her pain.
As Heathan pulls Ellis out of her mental prison, reviving the essence of who she once was, down the rabbit hole they will go.
With malice in their hearts and vengeance in their veins, they will seek out the ones who hurt and destroyed them.
One at a time.
Each one more deadly than the last.
Tick Tock.

I so didn’t want to read this! Not because it was dark. But because I knew this book would ruin me for the rest of the year. But it kept calling me, and so I gave in. I finished this book over a week ago and have not been able to move on. Tillie Cole never disappoints. Dolly and Rabbit’s story was as sordid as they come. The darkness prevailed no matter how many light switches you turned on. But this story was written just for me…lol. I loved every minute of it. I love dark and so does the other half of KindleCousins, Jasmine. Who refuses to read this one, because she’s smart. We have some ARCs to get through and she knew Tillie would ruin her! Stay tuned for her review in 2018!

Review: Arsen a Broken Love Story by Mia Asher

Arsen: A Broken Love Story

One glance was all it took…
I’m a cheater.
I’m a liar.
My whole life is a mess.
I love a man.
No, I love two men…
I think.
One makes love to me. The other sets me on fire.
One is my rock. The other is my kryptonite.
I’m broken, lost, and disgusted with myself.
But I can’t stop. This is my story.
My broken love story.

Wow!!!! Jasmine and I were in a serious funk this summer. We read next to nothing. Then all of a sudden…BAM!!! We have been on a wonderful reading streak and it didn’t end with this book. So where do I start? I normally hate books with cheating. But I took a chance because our goal is to read some of the authors we’ll meet at the LoveN Vegas event. I’m sooooo glad I took a chance. Did I love the characters? No. But I was caught up in this book’s snare. The writing was exceptional and pulled you in. The start was slow, but even then, there was this underlying impending doom that I couldn’t look away from. This was an angsty read. At about 79%, I actually covered my eyes and was in a full anxiety attack…lol. I just couldn’t believe the audacity of these characters. By 83%, I was a blubbering idiot. The range of emotions I felt while reading this was crazy.  I loved this one. Gah!!! Please, Please, Please Jasmine hurry up and read this one!!!! Issa disaster! I have to read another one by Mia Asher next…

This was definitely a disaster, but I could not look away. I was pissed at these characters at many points. Then, there were moments that BROKE me. I didn’t love these characters but I was invested in them. This story was masterfully written because it pulled me in even without making me love the characters. I flew through this book because it was literally a train wreck that I could not stop reading.

Review: Fear You by B.B. Reid

Fear You (Broken Love, #2)

What happens when she’s had enough?

Lake Monroe has given in to her childhood tormentor too many times. She knows it, he knows it, and even their enemies know it. When he returned after being found guilty of a crime he didn’t commit—a crime he thought she set him up for, he returned darker than ever, demanding her body and her submission. To survive him, she knew she had to give in to fear once more or suffer the deadly consequences…

But Lake experienced what it was like to submit to the dark and demanding boy who invaded her dreams. Now she’ll experience what it’s like to fight him.

What happens when he wants more?

Keiran Masters has a past that is both shocking and dark. Once enslaved, he now has demons he can’t escape—demons that have followed him for ten years, demons he blames his beautiful obsession for. He promised to make her pay. He promised to make her break…

But after Keiran had conquered her body and tasted her submission, he found a new addiction instead—one he has no intention of giving up.

As secrets unfold,
Identities are revealed,
Danger closes in,
And they both discover what it really means to fear…

These books are crazy af. One of the main reasons I read is to escape everyday life. This book provided that escape. These characters are unbelievable at times. I know it was hard for some to wrap their minds around the fact that the MCs were in high school, but it worked for me. It made the story that much crazier. Keiran is sexy as hell. Damn, that man child… I love how Lake stood up for herself in this installment. I can’t wait to continue.

Natasha is right. This book is absolutely an escape from reality. I was really shaking my head at some of the situations these kids found themselves in. Typically, when reading stories about high school kids, I’m left wondering where there parents are, but BB definitely didn’t leave that question unanswered. Keiran is sexy definitely, but also majorly damaged. I loved that Lake stood up for herself and pushed to learn more about Kieran and his history and motivation. Definitely an entertaining read, and I absolutely can’t wait to read Keenan’s story because I need to know what’s going on in his head!

Review: Fear Me by B.B. Reid

I don’t believe in fairy tales and Prince Charming.

I believe in fear.

He taught me how to be afraid.

We first met on a playground on a wonderful summer day. It was the first time he hurt me and it wouldn’t be the last. For ten years, he’s been my tormentor and I’ve been his forbidden. But then he went away, and yet I was still afraid.

Now he’s back and wants more than just my tears. You see…he thinks I sent him away so now he wants revenge…and he knows just how to get it.

Warning: Fear Me contains sensitive themes. (less)

This is going to be a quick one… I have to get to the next book. This book has been on my TBR list for sometime. We finally decided to read this one since we’ll be meeting B.B. soon. This book was outrageous and unbelievable at times. The characters were irritating and too damn grown. Keep in mind they were in high school. But you know what? The plot, writing, and characters consumed me. I just can’t get it out of my head. So with that being said, this review is over and I’m starting book 2.

Let me start by saying, this man child has me feeling some kind of way. I’m not entirely comfortable having all these feelings for an 18 yo barely man! However, 18 is legal, sooooo. Keiran is insane and insanely hot! I was drawn in immediately and even though it was absolutely ludicrous at times, I was stuck needing answers. There were legitimately points in this book where I was asking myself how these kids were still in high school. Like really, how? Reminder: Do not live in a small town when my children are in high school. I couldn’t imagine getting myself into the things these high school kids got into. On to the next one! I NEED answers!
