Trophy Wife by Alessandra Torre

Trophy Wife (The Dumont Diaries, #0.5-5)

Everyone in Nashville knows Nathan Dumont. That’s what happens when you develop half a town and sleep with the rest.
Four years ago, his fiancee disappeared.
Last night, he proposed to me.

I had wanted to escape my life, the seedy strip club and the mountain of bills. I had seized the opportunity to live in a mansion, fill my days with country clubs and caviar, my nights with romance and sex.

Maybe I should have done my homework first

I asked one of my book besties to give me a book rec… so here we are. This one demanded my attention from beginning to end. This one definitely gave me “Pretty Woman” vibes but add super hot sex, a few spankings, voyeurism, and a ton of suspense.  On second thought, this was waaaay more interesting than Pretty Woman… No offense. I was thoroughly entertained and confused all at once. I didn’t know wth was going on. I didn’t trust anyone. I barely liked anyone. But you know what? It freaking worked for me. My book bestie knows exactly what kind of twisted and sordid characters I love. Keep those sweet characters, give me the unlovable ones. Candy and Nathan were my type of people with their lies, cheating, and shady pasts. They played a dangerous game of hate vs. lust throughout the book. I was on the edge of my seat trying to gauge what emotion would win in the end. No matter how brutal their hate appeared for one another,  their sexual encounters left nothing to be desired.  This dichotomy of emotions was the backdrop for the ultimate suspenseful romance and I’m so glad I listened to that book bestie of mine. Thank you for the rec Lola Bell!. Thank you for your words Alessandra Torre!
