Meet Author #KelliJean

Born and raised in Miami, Kelli Jean traded the tropical heat for the arctic. Now she deals with twenty-four hour daylight in the summer, zero sunlight in the winter, and believes the Northern Lights make up for the mind-boggling amount of ice and snow she has to put up with for seven months out of the year. She’s surrounded by mountains and ocean and sheep, and claims her bizarre sense of humor is what keeps her sane.

The insane don’t know they’re insane.

Kelli uses her imagination to create worlds she can escape to from the mundane tasks of everyday life, such as washing the damn dishes and vacuuming up Legos off the floor—and don’t get her started on the mad amount of cat hair on the end of the couch. She gave up on that a long time ago. When the household goes to sleep at night, she writes down everything that happened in her head while doing such tedious chores. But she enjoys living in her own head, so that’s pretty cool.

Technology terrifies her. She can barely turn on a computer, and was completely shocked when she’d actually written a book on one. To this day, she has no explanation for this baffling mystery. It took her three years to realize she can take screen shots of messages and pictures of bearded, tattooed men with her phone. Now that she’s mastered this task, her phone is slowly dying, and she’s nervous that she’s going to have to buy a new one and it will take her another three years to learn how to use it.

By Vi Keeland

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.

He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.

When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.

You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.

He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.

Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.

Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.

Oops.  My mistake.

Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.

I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?

That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.

Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.

I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.

Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.

This was going to be interesting…

Review: One is a Promise by Pam Godwin

One is a Promise (Tangled Lies, #1)

One promise.
One forever.
One look and I knew Cole was mine. My dark rebel in leather. My powerhouse of passion, devastating smiles, and impulsiveness.
When his job sends him overseas, he promises to return to me.
A promise that’s destroyed in the most irrevocable way.
Two years later, an arrogant suit invades my heartbroken loneliness.
Clean-cut and stern, Trace is everything Cole wasn’t.
At first, he’s a job that will rescue my dance company. But as he intrudes on my life, our hostile relationship evolves.
He knows I’m still in love with Cole, but his dedication is my undoing.
Then a catastrophic moment changes everything.
Promises resurface.
Lies entangle.
And an impossible choice shatters my world.
I love two men, and I can only have one.

I’m freaking speechless right now! I feel the worst book hangover coming on. Let me try to write a cohesive review… First of all I love Pam Godwin as much as I loathe love triangles. So I had to read this and was so excited to be gifted an ARC. I was pulled into this story within the 1st few pages. I loved Danni. She was quirky, giving, and loved Beyoncé. (Anyone who knows me, knows I love Beyoncé). My girl crush on Danni grew as I watched her fight to overcome debilitating emotional pain.  I was in awe of her. All while dealing with massive loss, she continued to be a source of light to other people. I don’t want to give too much of the plot away, but bottom line… I fell for 2 men. Ms. Godwin really did a number on me. Her writing totally unarmed me. The expected became unexpected and the obvious choice became obscure. I posted numerous GR updates while reading this. One of my 1st updates read “This book is going to destroy me.”  Destroy me it did and I loved every moment. I’m so freaking torn and confused. My heart goes out to Danni. I can’t wait for the next installment. I think I may just text Jasmine again to discuss some more.  This will make the 20th text btw…lol. Read it!!! Its not your average love triangle!!!

I… I just don’t even know where to start. This book left me with so many questions. ok, first of all, as Natasha said, we LOVE Pam Godwin, so of course when we had the opportunity we jumped on her arc. I wasn’t immediately drawn into Danni. It wasn’t until she met Cole that I was absolutely invested (which happened in the 3rd chapter). As I got to know her more, I began to appreciate her character more. She was dealing with deep sorrow, but still managed to inspire others. The one emotion that was immediate was hatred for Trace. It was clear from the onset that Cole and Trace were polar opposites. Yet, somehow I fell for both men, eventually. This is an amazing story. The characters were so strong and well developed. What I’m still trying to wrap my head around is that I knew this was going to be a love triangle. I knew she was going to have an impossible choice to make. Yet, somehow I still managed to be shocked. The only reason I’m not cursing and throwing my kindle is because I know the next one will be out in about a month. This is a definite MUST READ.

Review: Incentive by Pam Godwin

Incentive (Infidelity World)

Desperate men do desperate things.
When Decker Gabrielli hits rock bottom, he accepts a job as a hired companion at Infidelity.
Surrendering a year of his life to a woman he’s never met might be the worst idea ever. But money, prestige, and sex are powerful incentives. That is, until the job becomes more than a contractual agreement.
Hard limits are breached, panties are shredded, and rules are broken.
In the end, his secret to getting ahead is… her

I’m so glad this was my 1st read back into Aleatha’s World of Infidelity. I completely fell in love with Laynee and Decker’s story. It was a quick hot read. Decker. Decker. Decker. Gah! Can I have him. His alpha jumped off the pages into my heart and panties. He was everything. The way he cared for Laynee, the sacrifices they made for each other, and their hot lovemaking melted my heart. I was on the edge of my seat during the moments when they proved their love. My mouth hung wide open at the boldness of it all. I still can’t believe… WOW! Just Wow! I can’t wait for Jasmine to read this so we can scream together. I love Pam Godwin. I love Aleatha. I love this book.  Read it!!!!

Mmmmmm mmmm mmm mmmm… Decker Decker Decker… Excuse me while I change my panties. Decker is so damn hot! He is a true alpha in every sense. He took control in every situation, but was sensitive to his woman’s needs. There was NOTHING that he would not do for Laynee. He was always in control, but never used his power to overpower her. Instead, he used his control to empower Laynee and help build her up. Laynee and Decker’s story was so amazing. It was sweet and honest. I loved the way they challenged each other to be better and do better. Plus, their sex was so hot!! You definitely need to read this book.

Review: Laurent and the Beast by K.A. Merikan

Laurent and the Beast (Kings of Hell MC, #1)

— Nothing can stop true love. Not time. Not even the devil himself. —

1805. Laurent. Indentured servant. Desperate to escape a life that is falling apart.
2017. Beast. Kings of Hell Motorcycle Club vice president. His fists do the talking.
Beast has been disfigured in a fire, but he’s covered his skin with tattoos to make sure no one mistakes his scars for weakness. The accident not only hurt his body, but damaged his soul and self-esteem, so he’s wrapped himself in a tight cocoon of violence and mayhem where no one can reach him.
Until one night, when he finds a young man covered in blood in their clubhouse. Sweet, innocent, and as beautiful as an angel fallen from heaven, Laurent pulls on all of Beast’s heartstrings. Laurent is so lost in the world around him, and is such a tangled mystery, that Beast can’t help but let the man claw his way into the stone that is Beast’s heart.
In 1805, Laurent has no family, no means, and his eyesight is failing. To escape a life of poverty, he uses his beauty, but that only backfires and leads him to a catastrophe that changes his life forever. He takes one step into the abyss and is transported to the future, ready to fight for a life worth living.
What he doesn’t expect in his way is a brutal, gruff wall of tattooed muscle with a tender side that only Laurent is allowed to touch. And yet, if Laurent ever wants to earn his freedom, he might have to tear out the heart of the very man who took care of him when it mattered most.

I can not get enough of K.A.’s stories. I’ve never been a fan of historical fiction until K.A. put their spin on it. This book was angsty as hell. I was dying to know what the hell was going on. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time. I could have easily read this in one sitting, but life… Laurent and Beast’s story was extremely entertaining and swoony. I died laughing at all the misunderstandings and felt bad for just as many hurt feelings. Laurent was a total sweetheart. He was created to love Beast unconditionally. Beast deserved Laurent’s love. Beast was protective, smart, and a natural leader. I felt bad for him. He wanted so bad to be loved and accepted. I was praying he realized he would find that love and acceptance in Laurent’s arms. I was rooting for them. It was a bumpy ride, with some questionable characters and I could have used a few more sex scenes. But, I absolutely loved it. It was a definite great read. Thanks again ladies!

I really enjoyed this story!! Laurent was so sweet and innocent. I instantly fell for him. Beast had such a soft and generous heart beneath his rough exterior. Theirs was a whirlwind romance that was made difficult by their own reservations and inhibitions. They fell for each other immediately, but their past experiences jaded them from just accepting their instant connection. I was rooting for them throughout because they deserved each other. Laurent was able to look past Beast’s exterior to see the amazing man he was underneath it all. Beast recognized Laurent’s vulnerability and protected him even when he wasn’t sure what he was protecting him from. Their interactions were frustrating at times, but were also very sweet and sexy. Their sex scenes were super hot too!

Excerpt Reveal!!!!!!!!!!!

By Aleatha Romig

Release Day: May 16th

A fun, sexy new stand-alone from New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig.

He’s sexy and confident, the kind of man every woman notices. You know, the one with the to-die-for body and panty-melting smirk. And then there’s the way his designer suits drape over his broad shoulders and big…well, we’ve all heard the rumors, the ones that say he’s up for any challenge.

But I can’t see him that way. He’s my boss—technically one of the owners of the company where I work—and definitely not in my league. Men like him don’t notice women like me, and they don’t date them.

And I don’t date men like him.

Until that one time that I catch him in a compromising position when I’m also in need of a last-minute date for a wedding…and then it’s not real. It’s blackmail.

For one weekend, he’s my plus-one.

Beautiful and unobtainable.

From the moment she walked into my office with those stunning blue eyes and crazy sensual curves, she’s been on my mind. Three years and never once has she acted interested in me. Usually I flash a million-dollar smile and women fall to their knees, some literally.

Not her.

Then on the occasion that I agree to let another woman do that—fall to her knees—guess who happens to catch us?

It may not be the most conventional way to get on her radar, but I didn’t get this far in business without knowing when to seize an opportunity. If this sexy little firecracker with perfectly kissable lips thinks she can blackmail me into attending her cousin’s wedding, I’m going to jump at the chance to be her plus-one.

You love her darker side. Now it’s time to meet Leatha, the lighter side of Aleatha, as she trades her renowned twists and turns for laughs and love with this sexy new stand-alone romance, PLUS ONE.

Chapter 1

I push the thought of my mother’s call away and concentrate on my friend, Shana. As I do, the slippery napkin escapes my hold. Quickly, I slide from my seat to retrieve it.

“Excuse me,” a deep voice says as black leather loafers stop precariously close to where I’m now kneeling to rescue my napkin.

Seeing the shoes, I look up and suck in a deep breath.

Towering above me are long legs covered in tailored trousers. As I follow them up, they lead to a trim waist, a black belt, and a white shirt that buttons over a broad chest. I barely swallow the lump in my throat as I recognize the wide shoulders covered with the matching suit jacket. Seizing the napkin, I stand, suddenly face to face with one of the owners of the company where I work.

My face burns with embarrassment as his shimmering green eyes narrow and head tilts. Inches away from me is one of the handsomest men I’ve ever met. He should be on the cover of GQ, not gracing the halls of Buchanan and Willis.

His firm lips form a tight smirk and cheeks rise in amusement. “Miss Jones.”

Staring into the sea of emerald, I try to pretend I wasn’t just on my knees in a chic restaurant in front of Duncan Willis.

“Mr. Willis,” I respond, my voice cracking. Nervously I take a step backward. As if the moment weren’t awkward enough, I wobble, teetering precariously on my high heels.

Swiftly, he reaches out, grabs my elbow, and steadies my footing. Though he just saved me from making an even bigger fool out of myself by falling face-first into what I can only imagine is a hard, defined chest, my mind is suddenly consumed with the electricity of his touch. The energy heats my skin as his grasp lingers.

Review: The Gravity of Us by Brittainy C. Cherry

The Gravity of Us (Elements, #4)

Graham Russell and I weren’t made for one another.
I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed.
Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other’s secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears, and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another.
Those seconds left us floating, but when reality knocked us sideways, gravity forced us to descend.
Graham Russell wasn’t a man who knew how to love, and I wasn’t a woman who knew how to either. Yet if I had the chance to fall again, I’d fall with him forever.
Even if we were destined to crash against solid ground.

I don’t know why I don’t fangirl over Brittainy C. Cherry more. I mean I’ve loved every book she’s written. Her books leave me an emotional mess. Well you know what? It stops today. I’m an official fangirl as of this moment! This. Freaking. Book. was everything. It ripped my heart out. It made me laugh until my stomach hurt. It made me swoon. It made me almost throw my kindle. This. Freaking. Book. I mean I’m kind of speechless. I loved the main characters. I loved how they fell in love. There were no long glances, heated moments, or tingles when they touched. They fell in love so quietly, it was like… gravity. OMG! How did Brittainy do it?! It was so subtle and beautiful to watch. I can’t even wrap my head around the writing. How she chose each word and interaction to represent this epic love story as gravity is beyond me. So freaking beyond. Graham and Lucy were perfect MCs. They were extremely authentic and likeable. Even though Graham was an iceberg, I loved watching him thaw. He was hilariously mean at times. Lucy was just Lucy. She was a ball of love and acceptance. They were just what the other needed. But the supporting characters breathed life into this story. Gah!!! The relationship ARCs were amazing and they broke my heart. This. Book. Just read it and love it as much as I did. It was one of my favorite reads this year.

5 stars

I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who was a mess at the end of this book. I felt like Lucy, tears streaming down my face, wiping them away to continue reading. I LOVED this story. Graham was possibly the worst person when we started this journey. Watching him open his heart was so beautiful. It started with his daughter and moved onto Lucy. And Lucy, Lucy was herself and nothing more but that was more than enough. The girl who felt everything. Graham and Lucy’s love story was so gradual and natural. It made sense even when it didn’t. I loved the way pieces of their history was intertwined. Such an amazing story!!
